I produce a podcast for Iceland Review magazine. Here are some of my favourite recent episodes.
Goodbye to the Grind
This was a particularly fun episode to produce. Together with another journalist and our staff photographer, we took a trip to the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland to visit a beautiful café in the shadow of Mt. Kirkjufell.
White Sahara
One of the highlights of my travel writing so far. We were lucky enough to be invited to the new Highland Base at Kerlingarfjöll for a weekend of cross-country skiing. I take a look at the rising popularity of luxury tourism in Iceland and some of the environmental concerns over the development.
Skeletons in the Closet
Together with Iceland Review writer Frank Walter Sands, we take a look at the story of a disgraced Nazi and his homecoming to Iceland.
Disaster on Dark Seas
Another favourite episode of mine. These historical pieces combine many of my own personal interests, and I try to tell a story through the audio design and production that complements the writer’s story.
Point of Sale
One of my recent pieces. I love to ask questions about the seemingly mundane and see where it leads. Doing historical research into the stories behind our built environment often unearth many interesting facts. When writing these pieces, I’m often in awe of just how intricately connected social problems, urban design, politics, and history are.
